Moses was born with a gift to dream about the future and interpret dreams. But his journey in life took a twist and he found himself in very undesirable places, the Pit, Potiphar's house and the Prison, we are all familiar with the story. However, Joseph made the best use of his time while in those places, he did not just sit and sulk about his unfortunate predicament and he acquired various skills, such as administrative skills, he learnt how to speak several languages, he acquired people skills etc. But eventually, it was his God given skill of interpreting dreams that made room for him and helped him locate his divine field of endeavour. But in his new office as Prime Minister to Pharaoh, he had to use all his acquired skills of language, administration, and people management.
So also we as as Christians have both spiritual gifts and acquired skills. But we need to use our spiritual gifting more, we need to sharpen these gifts and use them even in our circular lives. We need to receive boldness from the Lord to do this, because these gifts will make room for us, and when they do, everything else we may have learned and acquired on the way of our sojourn on earth will also be needed to plough our divine fields of endeavour. So what are your God given gifts and your acquired skills? May your gift make room for you this year as God reveals to you your divine field of endeavour. HAPPY NEW YEAR - HAVE A PROSPEROUS 2012!
